Set to release his debut album next week, STAL revealed the music video of his new single, “The City, Our Souls”.
STAL, aka Pierre-Marie Maulini, made a sensation last June with the release of his single and the video of “Burning Desire“. Today he returns with “The City, Our Souls“, a new extract of his debut album Young Hearts, set to be released on October 23rd via Arista.
Former guitar and keyboard player of M83 for their international Tour, Pierre-Marie decided to start his own musical project in 2011. STAL was born. The 30-year old musician and producer from Nice confided recently to FrenchTouchMusic.com that he composed the whole album in about a year. Even if he wanted to keep the spontaneity of an acoustic band, the process of composition was mostly done behind keyboards, machines and a computer. “I really enjoyed this writing process. It gave me the opportunity to compose quickly and I am someone who particularly likes spontaneity,” STAL said.
The new single “The City, Our Souls” is in the same vein as STAL’s previous productions and perfectly reflects his musical universe and his influences. The solid Rock base, enhanced by Electronic sounds, is almost a movie soundtrack. STAL says it himself: “I love movie soundtracks and it certainly influences my music approach a lot.”
STAL is a musical wizard ready to enchant you with tracks, both powerful and melodic. To experience this enchantment, you can get the track “The City, Our Souls” and pre-order the LP Young Hearts on iTunes and Amazon.
