French DJ an EDM producer David Guetta has been asked to compose the official anthem of Euro 2016 that will take place in France.
A year prior the beginning of the competition, UEFA (European soccer association) has announced that French native David Guetta will be the one in charge of composing and producing the official anthem of the event. He is now the official musical ambassador of the Euro 2016.
It is always an great honor and a huge music exposure for any artist who is asked to create the official anthem of an international tournament. The song will be played before every game as well as in promo videos leading up to the event. David Guetta will perform the song at the opening ceremony, and has also been asked to help creating the musical identity for the entire tournament: everything from in-stadia audio to global broadcast sequences.
“We wanted to work with David Guetta because he has proven throughout his career that he can create music which inspires people all around the world,” said UEFA President Michel Platini. “David’s music has great energy so we look forward to seeing and hearing him add to the spirit and atmosphere of the tournament.”
“It is incredibly exciting to be part of this huge football tournament in my home country,” said Guetta. “Music and football go hand in hand when it comes to celebration and enjoyment and I want to help to make this Euro the biggest and most memorable yet. We want the fans to be at the very heart of everything that we do.”
Also, David Guetta will be playing a free concert at the Champ de Mars (Tour Eiffel) in Paris on the eve of the tournament, June 9 2016.
